I Learned
I learned not to dwell,
on all the things not going well.
I learned not to yell,
when times were not going swell.
I learned that each time I fell,
It could have been the final bell.
I learned that I could no longer propel,
but I made a choice not to say farewell.
I learned that I could still occasionally excel,
this motivated me and helped me come out of my shell.
I am so very thankful I chose not to ring the final bell.
