WE WERE CHOSEN

We were chosen to learn life’s harshness,
The reason we could not understand.
We had so many questions,
But answers were hard to find.
When our questions were not answered,
We had to look deep inside.
The answer was within us,
It was never for us to decide.
We were chosen to learn life’s harshness,
Now it is time to pass it on.
Daily, people are chosen to learn life’s harshness,
The reason they can not understand.
They have so many questions,
The answers will be  hard to find.
When their questions are not answered,
They will also look deep inside.
The answer will be within them,
It was never  for them to decide.
It will be time for them to pass it on.
No one volunteer’s for life’s harshness,
It is not something we decide.
You see, we were chosen,
Now it is time to pass it on.
To survive, is to continue life.
The quality of life is then up to us.
Within our individual limitations,
We can choose to go forward,
Or choose to merely exist.
We are survivor’s, we were chosen,
Chosen means, preferred above others,
Now it is time to pass it on.
